Firestorms of Venus

Sympathy,
Comes in a kettle.
You poor the tea
And gently smile.

And I,
I’m so content here
Calm, just for a while

And I,
Wanna shatter the hourglass
How else can I make this last?

Mission control
Sends me a message
Planet approaching
Prepare to land

And I,
Put on my helmet
Slip my gloves on
And reach for the latch.

Open the door.
What do you see?
Waiting report.
I said,
“It’s beautiful”.

There’s a storm burning
Under the surface of your smile
And it’s torterous yearning is
The only proof I am alive
I’m alive.

I’m out of control
Everything’s aching
I drop to my knees
And begin to pray

My skin is on fire
My heart is breaking
And all that I was is burning away
And I all I want is to shatter the hourglass
To’ve met you, I’d do it again.

There is a storm burning
Under the surface of your smile
And it is torterous yearning is
The only proof I was alive
I was alive.
I was alive.
I was alive.
